Writing poetry

 Today we were writing poetry. We have to present either tomorrow or Monday and I am not too excited about it. It takes me a while to write poetry and its not the easiest thing to do. I think I write good poems but I hate rubrics or restrictions for what I have to do or say. I wish we had more time, but it is what it is. The end of the semester is coming up and I have been doing worse than I started out. I hope I can get back on track and get my grades up.

 Today we worked on another assignment on Newsela. Today's passage was about how select fast-food industries are violating labor laws. I had no idea that this was a big problem let alone a problem at all. I learned something new and answering the questions was pretty easy. Someone I knew, died today. He and I didn't really get along, but I would never wish this upon anyone. It hasn't been an easy year, so many of my classmates are dying. I will never forget the impact each of them have had on my life.  Rest In Peace, Guillermo.

9/11

 Today we presented our one-pagers in class. It wasn't a block day so not many people got to present. I didn't get to even though I think mine was pretty good. The rest of school was pretty easy and focused on 9/11 history, especially in my U.S. History class. I honestly hope that I don't have to present, but either way I'm sure I will get a good grade.
