Argumentative claims practice

    Today we didn't learn anything but we worked on writing claims and counterclaims for 10 topics. Putting yourself in someone else's point of view on a topic is not the easiest skill to learn. You have to be open-minded and be willing to research both sides even if it's not one you agree with. This is a good skill to have due to how many things in this world are debatable. However, some things are just facts such as we need water to survive and that the Earth is round. The only way to make a good argument is with research and knowledge. 

    School is still pretty depressing after all the loss we have had to experience this year but I am trying to stay optimistic. We all need to remember that we have our own futures and we need to take care of ourselves to ensure that we end up with a life where we are content.

 Today we worked on another assignment on Newsela. Today's passage was about how select fast-food industries are violating labor laws. I had no idea that this was a big problem let alone a problem at all. I learned something new and answering the questions was pretty easy. Someone I knew, died today. He and I didn't really get along, but I would never wish this upon anyone. It hasn't been an easy year, so many of my classmates are dying. poem presentation- Monday Nov 6

 Today we presented our poems we wrote. Mine took me a little longer than the hour we were given in class, I had worked on it all day when it was assigned. I think it came out alright but I was so tired. I was messing up my speech because I couldn't think straight. I like writing poetry, so I love when we are assigned things to do with poetry.
